Chromatin Structure

Mira Loma, California - United States

Chromatin is the substance which becomes visible chromosomes during cell division. Its basic unit is nucleosome, composed of 146 bp DNA and eight histone proteins. The structure of chromatin is dynamically changing, at least in part, depending on the need of transcription. In the metaphase of cell division, the chromatin is condensed into the visible chromosome. At other times, the chromatin is less condensed, with some regions in a "Beads-On-a-String" conformation.

United Kingdom

Chromatin refers to the complex of DNA and thousands of proteins that make up the chromosomal axes. With regards to eukaryotic DNA, cells have 2 main problems: DNA packaging: 2m of DNA must be able to fit into each 10um cell DNA accessibility: DNA must always be accessible for DNA binding factors, in the right region and at the right time

Structure of Memes
Belgium

The main criticism that can be raised against the memetic approach is that memes are difficult to define. What are the elements or units that make up a meme? Does a meme correspond to a complete symphony, or to a symphonic movement, a melody, a musical phrase, or even a single note?
