Indian Astrobiology Research Centre (IARC)

Indian Astrobiology Research Centre (IARC) conducts and encourages research in astrobiology. Astrobiology is the study of the origin, evolution distribution of life in the universe including the search fo r extraterrestrial intelligence. IARC's education & outreach program is primarily dedicated to extraterrestrial environmental matters in association / partnership with various United Nations initiatives.

IARC an autonomous scientific body affiliated with M.P. Charitable Trust, Mumbai (since 2012) and hence specific donations towards IARC are tax exempt. However, IARC continues to be funded and supported by people associated with IARC. We are looking for potential donors. Also we are working towards some degree of self-sustenance through fundraisers and education & outreach activities.

Team IARC - researchers, scientists or science enthusiasts with IARC - perfrom multiple roles to esnure smooth functioning. IARC does not have an office per se. It has a virtual office (Mumbai) which is only meant to handle post. Moreover it is conceptualized as a virtual institute and if and when required we catchup online or at coffee shops, especially Prithvi Theatre, Juhu, Mumbai.
