Theoretical Biology and Medical Modelling (TBioMed)

London - United Kingdom

Theoretical Biology and Medical Modelling (TBioMed) is an open access, peer-reviewed, online journal adopting a broad definition of "biology" and focusing on theoretical ideas and models associated with developments in biology and medicine. Mathematicians, biologists and clinicians of various specialisms, philosophers and historians of science are all contributing to the emergence of novel concepts in an age of systems biology, bioinformatics and computer modelling. This is the field in which TBioMed operates. Theoretical issues have become as topical as any other research activity and TBioMed offers the efficient, high-quality peer-review service that is needed to allow the timely dissemination of research. Being an open access publication, the journal reaches the widest possible audience. Comments from reviewers and other interested readers can be posted online to encourage debate, creating an ideal forum for communication of theoretical work.

Theoretical Biology Group of the ETH Zurich. We are part of the Institute of Integrative Biology and the Department of Environmental Sciences at the ETH Zurich. Our research and teaching focuses on microbial population biology. Most of our work is theoretical/computational, but we also do some experimental work.

Journal of Theoretical Biology
Netherlands

This journal is the leading forum for theoretical papers that give insight into biological processes. It covers a very wide range of topics and is of interest to biologists in many areas of research.

Theoretical Population Biology
Netherlands

This journal presents articles on the theoretical aspects of the biology of populations, particularly in the areas of ecology, genetics, demography, and epidemiology.
